Every year there is normally one selection procedure for the Junior Programme. This procedure consists of three parts: pre-selection, written test and oral test. All together, this procedure takes 2 to 3 months.
If you meet the 8 admission criteria you can apply during the application submission period. The call is published in the Official Belgian Gazette (Moniteur belge/Staatsblad) and on the BTC website, and it is launched once a year. In 2012 the call will be open from january 6th at 12h untill january 16th at 12h sharp. This is the only time you can apply. Spontaneous solicitations make no sense.
If you want to be informed automatically, you can join our mailing list by sending a mail to juniorprogramme@btcctb.org . Please include your name and e-mail address and mention “mailing list selection" in the subject of the mail.
You can only apply via the registration form and an electronic CV that is made available to you on the BTC website during the submission period.
After concluding registrations it is checked whether candidates meet the 8 criteria. All candidates are informed via e-mail whether they are allowed or not to the following round: The written test.
Candidates who meet all criteria, will also be invited by letter to participate in a written test. This written test is organised by Selor, in the month of february (see also Calendar). The exact date and place are mentioned in the letter of invitation.
This test is a computer test that has to be done within a set timeframe, under the supervision of a team of assessors. Participation to this test is required to be able to continue in the selection procedure.
Candidates who pass the written test will be invited via e-mail for the oral test. This oral test is organised by BTC, in the month of march (see also Calendar).
The oral test consists of a personality test, an individual interview and an "assessment center": a group exercise in which the applicant is put in a certain situation and has to interact with the other candidates. Candidates can choose from a limited set of days to do this test.
The written and oral selections are performed in search of a general profile. Candidates are screened against certain characteristics (motivation, mindset, etc.) that are indicative of how a Junior would function in the field.
If you do not pass, you can apply in response to a next call for applications, on the condition that you still meet the 8 admission criteria at that time.
Candidates who have passed the written test, but failed the oral test, are exempted for the written test if they participate to a new selection procedure; this exemption counts for two years. Mind, they also have to respond to the call for applications again and still meet the 8 admission criteria at that time.
If you pass all tests, you join the Junior Programme recruitment pool for 2 years. This is not a guarantee though for actual recruitment as a Junior. During these two years there are all-together between 2 to 4 moments that your profile will be matched with demands from the field. So there are up to 4 chances that you will get a post offered.
Selected candidates are invited for a special information session during which the further procedure is explained.
Matching will be organized once in 2012: in april, after the selections (see Calendar).
The selected candidates are given access to an overview of al positions available. They are invited to apply for one or more of these positions, by filling out a motivation form.
The first selection is performed at headquarters in Brussels; it is checked whether the profile of the candidate fits the chosen position(s). Possibly, your file is sent to the different projects along with the files of other candidates. It is the project that has the last word in the final selection of any candidate.
Regardless of our efforts, we cannot guarantee that we will find an appropriate function in the field for everyone who has made it to the recruitment pool.
