BTC applies a strict recruitment policy, which is based on detailed procedures. The basic procedure consists of an open and public selection. Any person that considers it meets the recruitment conditions described in the job opening may apply.
The applications are pre-selected on the basis of the CV and the letter in support of the application; pre-selection may include a telephone screening.
The pre-selected candidates are afterwards submitted to a selection procedure, which depending on the position, may consist of:
Interviews with a selection committee consisting of BTC experts who, as a general rule, are supported by external experts;
Written tests;
Personality tests;
An 'assessment centre' in a specialised office, which functions as a BTC partner (management functions);
An interview with the supervisor for positions at headquarters;
Verification of references
Candidates who satisfactorily conclude the selection may either get the job for which they have applied, either be contacted again afterwards for other similar positions, whether they have taken on employment or not. This also enables BTC, in certain cases, to rely on a selection procedure with its current staff.
Positions may exceptionally be attributed without public job opening in case of emergency, namely to ensure temporary replacements.
