Fair Trade animated cartoon nominated

The Trade for Development Centre (BTC) launched a Fair Trade contest as part of the 8th edition of the Fair Trade week. In September 2009 Joeri Christiaen, manager and founder of Thuristar, a small company, won the contest with the animated cartoon Fair Trading?

Now Fair Trading? is gaining international recognition with its selection for the Roma International Independent Film Festival in Italy and the Festival Internacional Cineposible de Extremadura in Spain.

Fair Trading? is a 3D animated cartoon that lasts one minute and highlights the exiting adventures of a coffee bean. In a funny way the cartoon highlights the pain points of fair trade. Joeri Christiaen is the director of the animated cartoon; Perrine Gauthier and Thuristar produced it; music is by Frederik Segers.
