BTC's new identity

In 1999, the Belgian government established BTC to implement its governmental cooperation. 10 years later, BTC is a recognized partner in the world of development agencies and has adapted to an ever-changing international context.

The notion of a global partnership appeared with the adoption by all countries of the world of the Millennium Development Goals, which aim at reducing poverty in the world by half by 2015. The different development partners are mobilising to achieve greater effectiveness of international aid. Together, they are looking at having a bigger impact on poverty. With these new challenges in mind, BTC is taking a new position. Instead of being strictly “technical”, BTC will focus more on its role as a development agency and confirms its commitment to contribute, along with its partners, to the efforts of the international community in reducing poverty.

A slogan and a symbol for a new BTC

From January 2010 onward, BTC’s baseline is “Building a fair world”; it translates BTC’s new vision. A stronger and more coherent visual identity will reflect BTC’s values of integrity, respect, commitment, innovation and responsibility. A new logo, which stands symbol for partnership and global solidarity, will clearly identify all BTC activities. The logo, which is based on different but interrelated elements and brings together warm and cold colours, stands for the global partnership.
