Junior Programme

What is the Junior Programme?

In 2006 the Junior Programme was created to offer young people a first professional experience in development cooperation.

Admission Criteria

To apply for the Junior Programme you have to meet each of the eight admission criteria on the final date of the call for applications.

Selection procedure

Every year there is one selection procedure for the Junior Programme. This procedure consists of three parts: pre-selection, written test and oral test. All together, this procedure takes 2 to 3 months.

Overseas departure

Two departure moments are organised every year: One in January/February and one in the June to September period. There is a maximum of 100 Junior Assistants assigned to the field at any given time.

The work of a Junior

Launch campaigns about hygiene in Rwanda, build ecological paths in Peru… The work Junior Assistants do is very varied.
