Admission Criteria

To apply for the Junior Programme you have to meet each of the eight admission criteria on the final date of the call for applications.
After 5 years of existence, the Junior Programme will get a facelift and the admission criteria might change.
We will inform you with more details as soon as we can on this website. However, if you would like to be informed on the latest news about the Junior Programme, we suggest you enroll in our mailinglist through our webform.
Admission criteria (1)
- Not have been in paid employment in a country considered a developing country by the Development Assistance Committee of the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development.
- Not have worked longer than two years under an employment agreement or as a self-employed worker; periods of employment as a working student are not taken into account.
- Hold Belgian nationality or be a citizen of a member state of the European Union or of the Swiss Confederation.
- Be at least 20 years old.
- Possess civil and political rights and have complied with the requirements of military service laws.
- Be of good character and conduct.
- Hold an upper secondary education degree or higher, either issued in Belgium or recognized as having equivalent status by competent Belgian authorities.
- Have successfully concluded the General Information Cycle (²).
Except for these 8 criteria, there is in principle no specific profile required for applications.
(1) As defined in the Royal Decree of 3 May 2006
(2) If you do not hold a certificate of successful participation yet, register as soon as possible for the General Information Cycle because there is a 6-month waiting list. Do not wait until a call for applications is launched, because that will be too late to obtain the certificate before the application deadline.
